Not such a royal experience !

Not that Navi Mumbai doesn’t boast of some of the finest eateries, but they rate at which new ones are mushrooming everywhere, there is going to be a lot to eat and no time to catch up. Royal Rasoi, is where we landed to celebrate an already overdue birthday dinner. Must admit Drama Queens were quite impressed with the ambience and décor.
The whole place has been aesthetically done with good use of space. The set of dangling glass fishes gave an enigmatic look to the ceiling. A wall partition with neatly stacked wine bottles also looked elegant.

Location :-  For those who don't know, Royal Rasoi opened in early 2011 at Sector 19A,Nerul.

Royal Rasoi caters Indian and Continental Cuisines. We decided to try out the Indian dishes on our visit. To begin with, we ordered our regular dose of drinks and a mix of veg and non veg starters.

Fish Fingers

Spring Rolls
We really recommend the Fish Fingers and the veg Subzi Seekh Kabab. Even the spring rolls where hot and fresh with crunchy veggies. While digging in to the chicken, we realized it wasn’t that tender and hence failed to impress us. The Paneer Tikka was a charmer though a little more marinating would have helped. The dinner on the other end was quite disappointing. The chicken curry , which to our surprise came in a white gravy (not mentioned on the menu card) was not made well. There was nothing exciting for the veggies too. Paneer Lababdar and the Babycorn and Mushroom dish did not do justice to our taste buds. Dal Makhani was the winner hands down with a semi thick gravy and fantastic flavor.

Alas! Even the Sizzling Brownie could not sizzle our taste buds enough. For some reason known to the chef, the brownie was served on a hot plate with pineapple slice as the base. In-spite of the rush on a Sunday evening, the service was pretty decent. The food arrived quickly and we dint really have to wait for hours after placing our order. Basic amenities for a table - the hand napkins were not provided which was a turn off.
Drama Queens give it a Thumbs Down and request their readers to step inside this Not-So-Royal-Rasoi at their own risk.
